Pastor Dwight Dean began his ministry in Sunshine in October of 2019. He is married to Barbara Shaw Dean and the two have 4 sons who are married and have given them 10 grand-children.

            Pastor Dean is a graduate of Berkshire Christian College and has done graduate studies at Valdosta State University, the University of Florida and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the Advent Christian General Conference in 1983 and has had pastorates in Florida, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Connecticut and Maine. He also has experience in social work administration having served at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park, FL on 2 occasions and at Allied Rehabilitative Services in Enfield, CT.

            Prior to coming to the Sunshine Advent Christian Church, he spent 2 and ½ years as the Interim Pastor of the Windsor Locks Congregational Church (EFCA) in Connecticut.

            Pastor Dean enjoys hunting, gardening, reading and exploring the beauty of the island. He is a lifelong New England sports fan and follows Florida State University sports teams as well. He has expressed his excitement about being able to serve the Lord among the people of Sunshine and the surrounding communities and looks forward to meeting you when you visit.
